HOLTON H280 Details

Holton- Bb/F double French horn, Farkas

Free-blowing horn with rich and resonant intonation. Bell and branch are made of a special brass alloy for a slightly darker coloring of tone. Good projection. Model H180 is an excellent orchestral horn with dark sound and bright overtones

Pitch: A445 with independent Bb tuning
Bore: 11.89 mm (.468")
Mouthpipe: .310 venturi of yellow brass
Lever action: Noiseless string action, short stroke with stainless steel springs
Valve rotors: Tapered hand-lapped brass
Bearing plates: Tapered brass
Branches and bows: Solid brass
Ferrules: Nickel silver
Slides: Both inside and outside are solid nickel silver
Bell: 12.25" diameter large-throated hand-hammered yellow brass
Waterkey: On mouthpipe
Extra-long main and Bb tuning slides, detachable bell and flat case available as model H280
