Yamaha continues its rich tradition of innovation by unveiling the new Nocturne N-100 Digital Piano, which is sure to become a contemporary classic. With speakers conveniently tucked into the rear cabinet and pedal frame, the Nocturne N-100 has a slim look top-to-bottom, despite its considerable depth. The result is a compact footprint that echoes the shape of a streamlined square-grand piano with an attractive black finish, slow-close fall board, and tasteful, soft-glowing, blue-lit control surface.

The N-100 wraps high-quality touch and tone into a package that features breakthrough design. The N-100 boasts 88 Graded Hammer Effect, weighted-action keys; 64 notes of polyphony; 10 of Yamaha's best keyboard voices (including Grand Piano, Electronic Piano, Pipe Organ, and Strings); and 50 built-in songs of standard piano repertoire that can play continuously. It also includes a spacious digital reverb that adds depth to its deceptively slim appearance and dual voice mode for the richer sound of two sounds playing together.

This Digital Piano is everything you would expect it to be. I have had it for about a month now, and even though I am just learning to play, I can say that it is just what I wanted. I wanted a digital piano that had the look and feel of an acoustic, but not all of the features that a full blown Clavinova has. The sound is great, as is the fit and finish. Service with this dealer, was fast and excellent. Everything arrived as promised within 5 days, in crisp new packaging. Would recommend bot the dealer and the piano strongly.

Let me tell you. I tried out a lot of digital pianos before puchasing this one -including Yamaha's vaunted 280 series. While this insturment has no where near the features of that digital, the grand piano sound on both are very similar. I test drove them both and the N100, at $2500, while lacking the features, had it where it counted for me... the sound. With only 10 voices, the features for this product are sparce for the money. In fact, the other voices on the N100, including the alternate piano sound, are not so good. (although I like the Harpsichord) -But if all you want is a magnificent grand piano sound and feel in your digital, than the N100 is the insturment for you. It sounds BEAUTIFUL. Personally, I couldn't be happier.
