First, the software allows conversion from Direct Stream Digital (DSD) audio to a PCM WAVE file that can be imported into any DAW software. Second, the software allows users to burn a DVD-Audio disc with up to 192kHz/24-bit stereo mixes. Also included in the software is the ability to create a DVD disc that will play on any DVD player - not just those set up for DVD-A playback. "The DV-RA1000 puts DSD recording - the best-sounding digital recording format available - within the reach of anyone," says John Larabee, Director of Sales for TASCAM. "Now, powered by Minnetonka's authoring software, owners of the DV-RA1000 can record and archive in DSD format, then distribute their material in any resolution or format needed. The TASCAM DV-RA1000 is a high-resolution stereo master recorder that records to CD or DVD+RW discs. Using DVD discs, the DV-RA1000 can record over five hours at better than CD quality, can record at 192kHz/24-bit resolution or record at DSD, the audio format developed by Sony for Super Audio CDs. The DV-RA1000 includes real-time effects such as multiband compression and EQ, and a USB 2.0 jack allows it to be used as a DVD+RW drive when connected to a Mac or Windows computer.
