SWR 750X DetailsCrushing volume, two killer effects, and pure SWR tone. The SWR 750x is the first upgrade to our highest-powered mono professional bass amplifier, the Bass 750. In addition to new chassis graphics - featuring the SWR logo badge in classic chrome - the 750x has inherited two popular effects circuits from the SWR Mo' Bass: SubWave (which produces a clean, pure and accurate octave effect) and Overdrive (which affects the pre-amp's 12AX7 tube to create overdrive that can be as subtle as a classic "flip top" or as nasty as a half stack). As an added bonus, the unit ships with a two-button footswitch that connects to the 750x via a stereo-to-two-mono cable for footswitching of the Overdrive and Subwave effects.

I purchased this head just before starting a cross country tour to culminate in a 2 week stay in L.A. It has taken every abuse imaginable and remained perfect to this day. My only complaints are that the included effects switch has no LED's on it to indicate on off, I have to turn around and look a the head to be sure. Also, most of the plastic nuts holding the 1 4 and other input plugs have fallen off and since been replaced using threadlocker to keep them on for good. All in all a great buy, but I still like ampeg better. By the way, I would not recommend using this head with one swr 4x10 cab and one 1x15 cab, the 15 speaker cannot handle the excursion resulting from the massive power this thing puts out(mine 15 died in less than 6 months of gigs)
