    APEX APEXDP3 Details

    The Apex-DP3 drum pack contains all of the microphones necessary for micing the drum kit in most live of studio applications. Specialized dynamic mics for the snare & toms as well as a large diaphragm dynamic mic for the kick drum cover the basic kit. Two highly effective pencil condenser microphones are included for use on hi-hats, accessory percussion or for use as overheads.

    The Bass Drum:
    The Apex125 large diaphragm dynamic microphone is ideally suited to handling the high SPL and extended low frequencies that most bass drums can produce. The mic's element is protected in a solid zinc die cast outer casing and can easily handle 165dB SPL at the input. The hypercardioid polar pattern offers maximum sound rejection from 180 degrees off axis, or the back of the microphone and provides improved isolation from other instruments or 'cross-talk' from other parts of the drum kit.

    The Snare and Toms:
    The Apex126 is designed from the ground up for drum kit, and is ideally suited for the demanding job of micing the snare and toms. Made of a rugged zinc die cast casing to protect the mic's elements from the occasional stick hit that is inevitable over a drumhead, the Apex126 is the perfect blend of performance and toughness. A cardioid polar pattern offers maximum rejection 180 degrees off axis, handling high SPL with a minimum of cross talk in the drum mix. The Apex126 can easily handle up to 145dB SPL at the input, and comes equipped with a rubber shock-absorbing clip made for mounting on the drum rim. This clip is solid, designed not to shift position or to damage your snare's chrome or brass rim.

    Hi-Hats, Percussion Instruments and Overheads
    A pair of Apex190 pencil condenser microphones are included in the Apex-DP3 drum pack. The Apex190's flat-frequency response and cardioid polar pattern make it an ideal solution for hi-hats, on percussion instruments or as overhead microphones for the entire kit. The Apex190 is a condenser microphone and requires phantom power to operate.

    Features

    The Apex-DP3 Contains:

    * 1x Apex125 Dynamic bass drum microphone
    * 3x Apex126 Dynamic snare / tom microphones
    * 2x Apex190 Pencil Condenser microphones w/clips
    * 3x Apex-DC Rim-attach isolation shock-mount clip for Apex126 Microphones

    The APEX125 is ideally suited to handling the high SPL and extended low frequencies that most bass drums can produce. The mic''s elements are protected in a solid zinc die cast outer casing for additional protection, and can easily handle 165dB SPL at the input. The hypercardioid polar pattern offers maximum sound rejection from 180 degrees off axis, or the back of the microphone. The tight hypercardioid pattern also provides improved isolation from other instruments on the stage or bleed from other instruments in and around the kit.

    Extended low frequency response and a smooth response curve ensure a natural, punchy and clean signal from the bass drum.

    Ideally suited for the demanding job of micing the snare and toms, the APEX126 is designed from the ground up for drum kit. Made of a rugged zinc die cast casing to protect the mic's elements from the occasional stick hit that is inevitable over a drumhead.

    The APEX126 has a cardioid polar pattern offering maximum rejection 180 degrees off axis and can easily handle up to 145dB SPL at the input. The tight cardioid pickup pattern also helps the front-of-house engineer further define the drum mix by separating the toms from crosstalk between mics. This becomes more and more important as the mic signal is often used to trigger any of the drum modules currently in the marketplace, as well as feed the front of house drum mix cleanly and with definition.

    It comes equipped with a rubber shock-absorbing clip made for mounting on the drum rim. This clip is solid, designed not to shift position or to damage the drum's chrome or brass rim.

    The APEX190 is a professional, stubby flat-frequency response cardioid condenser microphone suited to many applications. It can be used as a source microphone for choirs, for string sections, background brasses or drum overheads. It also works extremely well on acoustic guitars, in tight on hi-hats, or for solo string or woodwind instruments.

    The mic is enclosed in a rugged, low reflectance matte black finish making it ideal for instrument micing in any studio, broadcast or live applications where a high performance overhead mic is required. The APEX190 requires phantom power to operate, and is shipped with a microphone clip and windsock.
